The Overtime Calculator is an online tool that separates regular working hours from overtime hours. The worker's compensation for regular and overtime hours will then be computed separately base on worker's hourly rate and overtime rate. This overtime calculator is applicable only to companies that offers overtime pay for their employees.

How to Use the Overtime Calculator

Overtime Calculator

The main functionality of the overtime calculator is the part where you just need to enter the Time and click the Calculate button. The regular time and overtime will be displayed on the same row you entered the Time but there's more to it. Here's are some easy steps you might want to look into:

  1. Step 1

    On the Settings corner of the Overtime Calculator, there are options you can explore. There's Overtime where you need to choose the type of overtime and Time Input Format which allows you to enter whether in HH:MM format or decimal hours format. You can leave this with it's default values or change it based on your preferrences.

  2. Step 2

    After checking the options or changed some base on your preferrences, the next step is to enter the Time itself. On the Time Column in the table, you can enter the time you need to figure out the regular time from the overtime. This directs back to Overtime option. If you're overtime option selected is Overtime after 8 hours/day and you entered 10:45 total time, then you'll get 8 hours regular time and 2.75 hours overtime.

  3. Step 3

    You can add how many time you want just by clicking the Add Row button. Keep in mind that you can also change the Time Input Format from it's default HH:MM format to decimal time format. For example, 10:45 as HH:MM default format to 10.75 as decimal hours format. When everything is set, you can click on to Calculate button and the results will be displayed.
