Turn a Tuesday booking into a dated plan
A weekly Tuesday appointment can occur five times in a month. Before reserving a room or arranging a recurring client visit, count the actual Tuesdays within the booking period rather than multiplying a weekly plan by four.
The total tells you how many dates fit; the matching list tells you which ones to confirm. Holidays, cancellations and opening hours still need checking because the calculation only identifies calendar Tuesdays.
Set the first and last permitted dates
- Select This month, This year or Remaining this year, or enter the exact booking period using Start date and End date.
- Under Advanced: date boundaries, leave both dates included unless your agreement begins after the start or ends before the final date.
- Review the total and Matching dates. Changes update the answer immediately, and Calculate takes you to the first invalid date if one needs correction.
Editing a date selects Between two dates. Reset restores the current month and both inclusive boundaries. Remaining this year starts on the displayed UTC reference date, so a Tuesday that falls today is normally included.
Example: September 2026 appointments
Imagine a client visit each Tuesday during September 2026. Enter September 1 through September 30, inclusive. September 1 is already a Tuesday, so it is the first visit rather than a date to skip.
The remaining Tuesdays are September 8, 15, 22 and 29. There are five visits in total. If the service begins after September 1, exclude the start date and the result becomes four. For a September 1–29 range with both endpoints excluded, only September 8, 15 and 22 remain.
September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 = 5 Tuesdays
Exclude September 1: 4 Tuesdays
September 1–29, exclude both boundaries: 3 Tuesdays
Count weekly intervals, then include the first date
First apply the include or exclude choices. Find the first Tuesday on or after that effective start, then count full seven-day gaps through the effective end. Add one because a list of five visits has only four gaps between them.
From September 1 to September 30 there are four complete weekly gaps after the first Tuesday. The extra day after September 29 does not create another Tuesday. A valid range containing no Tuesday returns zero; missing or reversed dates display an error instead.
Count = complete weeks from first Tuesday to effective end + 1
No Tuesday inside the effective range = 0
Compare a full year with the remaining year
This year counts from January 1 to December 31. Remaining this year begins on the displayed UTC date, so it answers a different planning question. Neither preset removes holidays or dates that have already been booked.
A full year has 52 complete weeks and one or two extra days, so it contains 52 or 53 Tuesdays. Use the actual year rather than assuming every yearly schedule has the same number. Long matching lists are divided into pages of 60 while the main total remains complete.
Check boundaries before confirming visits
A same-day range counts one when the date is Tuesday and both endpoints are included. Excluding that single date leaves zero. Excluding a boundary on another weekday has no effect on the Tuesday count.
The calculator uses calendar dates in UTC, not elapsed local hours. Daylight saving changes therefore do not affect the result. Near local midnight, compare your intended date with the UTC reference shown beside the presets and enter a custom range if needed.
Questions about tuesdays
Does the last Tuesday count if it is the end date?
Yes, when Include end date is checked. Clearing it removes that Tuesday. An end date that is not Tuesday does not itself add a match.
Can I use this for Tuesday classes?
Yes, as a list of possible class dates. Remove school breaks, holidays and cancelled sessions separately; they are not detected by the calculator.
Can I count Tuesday and Thursday together?
This page counts Tuesday only. Use How Many Days to check another single weekday separately. It does not currently combine several selected weekdays in one calculation.
Why can the initial preset date look older?
Static pages contain a useful result from their build date. The displayed reference identifies it; after the page becomes interactive, presets refresh to the current UTC date.
