OJT Hours Calculator

Total from your DTR so far. Leave blank if you are just starting.

Your first day, or your next duty day if you have already started.

8:00 AM–5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch is 8. Use 7.5 for 7 h 30 min.

Projected last OJT day

Enter your required hours, start date and schedule to see your result.

This is a planning estimate. Your school and host company decide which hours count, so keep your signed DTR as the official record.

Know your last OJT day before your coordinator asks

Most internship programs set a number of hours you must render, such as 486 or 600, rather than an end date. That leaves you to work out how many hours are left and how long they will take once weekends, holidays and suspended days are taken out. This calculator does that count day by day. It credits your daily hours only on your duty days, skips Philippine regular holidays and special non-working days if you want, and shows the date your final hours should be completed.

You can also work backwards. If your school sets a submission deadline, switch to Hours per day needed to see how long each duty day must be to finish in time.

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the required hours from your syllabus or internship agreement, or tap one of the common amounts.
  2. Enter the hours already rendered from your Daily Time Record (DTR). Leave it blank on your first day.
  3. Set the date to count from. Use your start date, or your next duty day if you have already started and entered your rendered hours.
  4. Enter the hours credited per duty day. A typical 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule with a one-hour unpaid lunch credits 8 hours. If you are unsure how your time in and time out convert, total a week in the Timesheet Calculator first.
  5. Choose your duty days and whether holidays are skipped. Add class suspensions, school activities, local holidays or planned leave under Other days off.

The result updates as you type, and your inputs stay saved in this browser. Come back each week, update your rendered hours and next duty day, and the projection moves with you.

Example: 486 hours starting November 2026

Suppose you start a 486-hour internship on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday, with all national holidays off. November 2 is All Souls' Day, a special non-working day, so your first duty day is November 3. Eight weekday holidays fall inside the period: All Souls' Day, Bonifacio Day, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Rizal Day, the Last Day of the Year and New Year's Day.

486 hours ÷ 8 hours per day = 60.75 → 60 full days + 6 hours on day 61

Duty day 61, after skipping 8 holidays, is Thursday, February 4, 2027

If you count the same plan without skipping holidays, you would expect to finish on January 25, 2027. Those holidays move the finish date by more than a week, which is why a simple "hours ÷ 8" estimate is often wrong.

The formula behind the estimate

Remaining hours are the required hours minus the hours you have rendered. Dividing by your hours per day gives the number of duty days, rounded up because a partial day still has to be attended:

Duty days needed = (required hours − rendered hours) ÷ hours per day, rounded up

Finish date = the date of that duty day, counting only your duty days that are not holidays or days off

The second step is the one people get wrong by hand. The calculator walks through the calendar one date at a time, so a holiday on a Saturday does not cost you a day if you only report Monday to Friday, while a holiday on a Wednesday does.

Philippine holidays included

The calculator uses the national holidays in Proclamation No. 1006 for 2026, the separate proclamations for Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha 2026, and Proclamation No. 1427 for 2027. Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha for 2027 are declared separately later in the year and will be added once proclaimed. Local holidays declared by your city or province are not included, so add them under Other days off.

Whether a holiday counts toward your hours is decided by your school and host company, not by the proclamation itself. Some companies hold OJT on special non-working days, and some schools credit official holidays. Use the two holiday switches to match what you were told.

Keep your hours easy to verify

  • Record time in and time out every day on your DTR, and have it signed on the schedule your company requires. The DTR Calculator totals your hours rendered from those times.
  • Check whether lunch and breaks are deducted. An 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM day is 9 hours on the clock but often only 8 credited.
  • Ask before rendering overtime or weekend hours. Extra time only shortens your OJT if your school accepts it.
  • Recalculate whenever classes are suspended or your schedule changes, then tell your coordinator early if your finish date moves past a deadline.

For a single long or short day, the AM–PM Calculator gives the hours between time in and time out, and the Minutes to Decimal Hours Calculator converts 7 hours 45 minutes into 7.75 for this form.

Questions about OJT hours

How many days is 486 hours of OJT?

At 8 hours a day, 486 hours is 60 full days plus 6 hours, so 61 duty days. On a Monday-to-Friday schedule that is about 12 to 13 weeks before holidays and suspensions are taken out.

How many days is 600 hours of OJT?

At 8 hours a day, 600 hours is exactly 75 duty days, or 15 weeks of Monday-to-Friday duty before holidays. Use the calculator with your start date to see the actual finish date.

Are holidays counted in my OJT hours?

Only if your school and host company say so. By default the calculator assumes you do not report on regular holidays or special non-working days. Turn the switches off if your company holds OJT on those days.

Is lunch break included in OJT hours?

Usually not. Most DTRs deduct an unpaid lunch, so an 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM day credits 8 hours. Confirm the rule with your supervisor and enter the credited hours, not the time on the clock.

Can I finish OJT early by rendering overtime?

Sometimes. Extra hours shorten your OJT only if your school accepts them and your company approves them. Use the Hours per day needed mode to see what daily hours a target date would require, then ask first.

What if classes or work are suspended?

Add the suspended date under Other days off. The calculator will skip it and move your finish date to the next available duty day.
